Zanzibar Island in Tanzania, East Africa is a very recommended beach holiday destination. The Island is accessible by flights from Europe, Asia, America with stop over in Nairobi or Dar es Salaam and further connection to Zanzibar.

It is really a place for perfect relaxing with nice white long beaches and crystal clear waters where you can swim and snorkel at all times.

Besides the sun & beaches…

Zanzibar is not all about relaxing at the beach, though: as a tourist, you can learn about the history of the Island, meet the locals and discover the unique architecture of the historical world heritage center – the Stone Town, host of the popular Central Market.

You may also want to take the time to visit the local farms and taste different spices and tropical fruits, as well as learn about the traditional Zanzibar medicines used by the locals.

Water activities and wildlife

Snorkeling, diving, dhow sailing, fishing or watching the colorfulness underwater life  –  when it comes to water sports and activities, everything is possible here and the choices are unlimited.

Being an island, Zanzibar does not accommodate the big five wildlife but it is proud of the endemic rare Red Colobus monkeys, that can only be found here. Those friendly monkeys can be watched in Jozani forest along with the Sykes monkeys and Vervet monkeys.

The mangroves and the tropical rain forest under strict conservation are also among the great attractions of the only national park of the island.
