Montenegro tourist places

As a tourist in Montenegro, I think it’s best to know some of the Montenegro attractions that make this place an amazing travel destination.

First of all, you should know that Montenegro was first mentioned in an official document in 1276 and it got its name from the dark-green colored mountains that cover much of its territory.

There are plenty of amazing places just waiting to be discovered in this small Balkan country, starting with the Tara river canyon – the deepest canyon in Europe and world’s second, after the Grand Canyon in the U.S. – and continuing with other wonders of nature, such as: Durmitor National Park (which includes mountains over 2300 meters high, 17 glacial lakes, the Susca and Komarnica canyons, and delightful resorts where you can practice rafting and skiing, both during summer and winter), the Sakadar Lake National Park (which covers the territory of Montenegro and Albania and includes the largest bird reserve in Europe – a great place for birdwatching).

Among Montenegro’s tourist attractions are the stupendous beach resorts that attract millions of tourists every year – Budva, Ulcinj, Herceg Novi, Bar and Kotor are only the most renowned.
