Things To Do On A One Day Trip In New York City

Today we continue with our New York series of articles and we’ll talk about other interesting places you could visit during a single day.
You might want to mark them on a map, so you can further set your itinerary or book a nearby accommodation.
Take Some Pictures From The 86th Floor Of Empire State Building Observatory
When you visit New York, you should not miss your chance to visit the Empire State Building, the tallest building in the city.
Due to its colossal size and amazing design, this building is considered to be a true monument of architecture. It holds supremacy over the skyline of New York and until the tragedy of 9/11/2001, was second only to World Trade Center Twin Towers.
If you only saw the Empire State Building in films – such as the 1933 classic King Kong, where the building did not seem very high and quite easy to climb – once you get here you will feel like an ant compared to the famous skyscraper.
The building is located at the intersection of 5th Avenue and West 34th Street, it has 102 floors and includes an open-air observatory where you can have an excellent view over the city.
From the official website of the Empire State Building (http://www.esbnyc.com/) we found out that the observatory is at the 86th floor and the ticket costs USD 13.78 for children (6 – 12), USD 19.29 for adults (13 – 61) and USD 17.45 for seniors (62+).
Take A Walk On Fifth Avenue
Upon visiting the Empire State Building, you can take a walk on the famous Fifth Avenue or do some shopping at the luxury stores in the area, such as Tiffany & Co. or Cartier.
For shopping, you can also go to Rockefeller Center – the world-famous plaza, built in the ’30s, where you can dine at fine restaurants, visit art galleries or attend some spectacular events (by the way, you still have time to catch the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony this year, which will be held on the 30th of November).
Relax In Central Park
Central Park is also a very popular travel spot in NYC. It is the ideal place if you want to take some fresh air and you will find it very relaxing after walking the busy streets of the city.
For the end of the day, my personal recommendation is that you go to a Broadway show. You can choose from tens of great shows played at Broadhurst Theater, Imperial Theater, Foxwoods Theater etc. – whichever you choose, you will experience top quality New York entertainment.
That’s it for now for my New York travel suggestions. Of course there are many other interesting places to see in the city, but the ones we talked about in this post can be covered easily during a single visit.
Don’t forget to post your comments and share your impressions about places you have seen in NYC.
