How to Reach Bali by Flight
Lucky for us, there are plenty of airports in Bali that will get you to this tropical island destination with ease. From Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, the capital of Bali, to the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Kupang on East Nusa Tenggara, you’ll be able to fly from just about anywhere in Indonesia, Asia and Australia to get here. So, make sure you don’t go home without trying some of the local cuisine or seeing one of the beautiful beaches in Bali!
Flying from Australia
The cheapest way to fly from Australia to Bali is with an airline like Jetstar, Virgin Australia, or Tigerair. You can also fly with full-service airlines like Qantas and Garuda, but their fares are usually more expensive. The flight time from Australia to Bali is around eight hours. To get the best deals on flights, it’s best to book at least two months in advance. When you’re ready to book, use a flight search engine like Skyscanner or Google Flights to compare prices and find the best deal.
Flying from Dubai, UAE
The best way to reach Bali from Dubai is by flying. The two main airports in Bali are Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) and Lombok International Airport (LOP). Both of these airports are served by a number of airlines, including Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Singapore Airlines. The flight time from Dubai to DPS is around seven hours, while the flight time from Dubai to LOP is around eight hours. There are also a number of direct flights available from other major airports in the region, such as Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Bangkok (BKK), and Jakarta (CGK).
Flying from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The best way to reach Bali from Kuala Lumpur is by flying. There are two airports in Bali that serve international flights, Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) and Lombok International Airport (LOP). DPS is the busiest airport and is located in the southern part of the island, while LOP is located in the northern part of the island. If you’re flying from Kuala Lumpur, you’ll most likely fly into DPS.

There are direct flights from most major airports in Europe, including London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam. The flight time is around 14 hours. There are also indirect flights available with a stopover in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. These flights are usually cheaper but take longer, around 18-20 hours.

The easiest way to reach Bali from North America is by flying. The two main airports in Bali are Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) and Lombok International Airport (LOP). DPS is located in southern Bali, while LOP is located in northern Lombok. There are direct flights from major cities in North America to both DPS and LOP. For example, you can fly direct from Los Angeles (LAX) to DPS on Garuda Indonesia or fly direct from San Francisco (SFO) to LOP on Lion Air. If you’re flying from another continent, you’ll likely have to make a stopover in Asia before reaching Bali.
Flying From Middle East/Africa
There are a few different airports in Bali, but the two main ones are Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) and Lombok International Airport (LOP). DPS is located in southern Bali and is about a 45-minute drive from the center of town. LOP is located on the island of Lombok, which is about an hour away from Bali by ferry. If you’re flying from the Middle East or Africa, your best bet is to fly into DPS.
